I'M RIGHT!!

 I hate to tell you, I told you so, but I love to say I'm right
Don't know why, we always have to get pissed, moan, argue and fight
When the truth is, I'v been telling you, I've bin telling you all damn night
Is I hate to tell you, I told you so, but I love to say I'm right

When I told you not, to fall in love with me, this is getting a little weird 
You thought you, were going to soften me up, baby, maybe with a couple beers
Well I'm drunk now, and I look out, and I can see the light 
And i hate to tell you, I told you so, but I love to say I'm right

There was a time, I recall, when I thought that we could be
But you proved to me, you want nothing more, then to stay wild and free
So if you think, your getting through to me, well then it's time to fight

I'M RIGHT!!

Hi! This poem is great! I was just surfing around for a writer's group, and you convinced me to join this site. I really like how it seems you're talking to someone eye to eye, from the heart, and still manage to put your feelings in words so elegantly. I kinda wish it was a bit longer though.

Yeah it sure feels like a

Yeah it sure feels like a song. Most but not all of my poetry is meant to be a song, but hopefully good enough to be written or spoken without instruments. And I know all about forgetting stuff, I rationalize it by saying, 'Well, the parts I remember are probably the best'. Many proffessional musicians write more verses than they publish, they just keep the best ones. Prof. P.

That was Great!! I will even say awesome, I love songs, want to learn to write them. Would love to hear the rest if you find it. Maybe even on spoken word, (you could sing it) that would be cool. I hate to tell you I told you so, but I love to say I'm right! Great lyric, RIGHT ON!! Julie D.D.

I have and old computer I haven't been able to get back in to with loads of stuff I will never remember, but this one kind of stood out
