Battle Of Words

A battle of words, not for today
Haven't we anything nicer to say
Like words of peace flamed in love
It's never a time for push to shove

Harsh words, may just cut like a knife
Less of it, may we share a tranquil life
Scornful words can get in the way
A battle of words, sure can destroy one's day

Have we not had enough bitter and angst
Enough of jokes and petty old pranks
Try speaking of love, the best way you can
Offer your advice, lend up a hand

A battle of words, not for today

I just sat here and that is what sprung to my mind. All in all it is for anywhere we go with WORDS, not just here, with our blogs and poetry, in our lives. We should think before we speak less we lose ground in our own beings of who we are and what we say. No war of worlds or words have ever amounted to anything but grudgery and discourse, something I stay away from as it is non productive for sure. Learnt that the hard way as we all do. I just know how words can be touch for some and others to brush aside as they are only words. Words of a poem, your never alone!! It is all the bickering that goes on and has nothing to do with poetry that sometimes gets everyone on the roll. So we roll or sway from the punchlines. But words can hurt you at times Ciao bella gal. It is in that they are misinterpreted or taken out of context. Have you ever had someone say something to you that you never forgot and it stick to you like glue. Thanks for the visit and yes some words rule the world but not all. Words and their meanings or lack of meanings is all up to the individual. I had just been sitting thinking last night just how much words influence our behaviors and our emotions. After all is said and done they are only words. I concer with you and I appreciate your comments here Golden Lady. So many times in life we get angry and shoot our mouths off only to sometimes have it bite us in the end. I say it's time to lend up a hand and recoil down to reality and learn to better our words or reactions in a heated debate or whatever, I have always found it easier to walk away and then have not did so myself and regretted it afterwards, I dont live by this golden rule all the time but as life progresses onward I know when words can get in the way it is better to let it go and breathe!!! I pray for your surgery to go well and will be looking forward to hearing you are out and home to recuperate with your cat and the loved ones around you girl. This is a simple but very effective piece - your message is delivered with clarity and how could anyone not want to put a battle of words behind them and move on.
