May 4, 1960 ~ baby, the rain must fall

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/65/Kent_State_massacre.jpg

let there be praise
homage
to life's lovers
who tip the balance
of uncertainty
and rest assured
that life is not a tulip
cut and dying in a vase,
no matter how many
wars are waged
when hate and fear rears its ugly head
the innocent hacked
bombed, tortured, shot and
bludgeoned to death,
no matter how many die
in the name of hunger and thirst
or live in the inner city ghettos of America,
the occupied lands of Palestine,
let us find a cure for the sickness of indifference,
and the greed that allows us
to turn our backs on brothers and sisters
caught in the webs of our own self-deception,
let the four dead in Ohio
bring us all to our knees.

United in the Om of H om e,

United in the Om of H om e, love can and does prevail. ~A p.s. Title taken from this 60's song of the same name sung by Glenn Yarbrough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heRoUyPE4gw&feature=related "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach
