The word Body

The outer body of the Kirk roseTo the rising of the bookHigher voices sang as oneTo the highest listener The outer body knelt as oneTo the condemnation of the WordEyes down as oneFor the troubles of their souls The outer body of the Kirk leftAs oneStreaming out into the lightSpurring off in sleeked clans The inner body of the Kirk was emptyDesolate and alone another week to passDevising ways to stay saneUntil Sunday service comes round again

Dear Liz

You have exercised the word body in an ingenious way, Kirks Church and its parishioners. Cleverly created, I must say. Well done and I enjoyed the read. Love Lyz. XX

hi seabhac

I liked this , the repetition creates the mood of a church service. 'sleeked clans' is a good image, I could see that. I just looked up seabhac and how to pronounce it, there are sea hawks where I fish near byron bay, magnificent , they'd swoop near me trying to get my bait. kind regards ross

Your sea hawks sound amazing

I can visualise this fisherman resplendid with his rod and essential notebook( for moments of poetic inspiration) alone on the rocks being divebombed by an incredible bird of prey. Thank you for the beautiful image of you Best Wishes Seabhac
