NO EXPECTATIONS

NO EXPECTATIONS

No expectations dog your step

no freedom lost, no load

no heavy chains to bind you

no God to confound you

no thing that penetrates

your self, you own true self

you're not upon the shelf for sale

nor languishing in luxuries pail of muck

but have the best of luck

to find a tiny seed

a seed that meets your need

of company

of harmony

of peace.

I wish to be that tiny seed

that never grows to be

a flower or fruit

beside the others in yourself

those grand fine lovers on your shelf

of ecstasies and loves

I wait for no-one's nurturing

no flame to light the fire

just let me lie like fallen fruits

until at last I expire.

But there inside you when you need

lies the stone that slew Goliath

waiting to defend your honour

defend your whole

so cast it on your troubles

when they torture you to death

I'll be there as a minute fleck

of insignificant dust

that chokes the furies in their flight

and digs them down in earth

so remember when you're needing me

I'l be there for your second birth.

Dear Ann

What a friend you are. This surely is from the heart and boy, a grand choice of words. No expectations, grand title and sentiment. We all should expect nothing in return for our kindness and giving when it is from the heart. Wonderful words shared here dear Ann. Love Lyz. XX

The giving of love is the greatest love one shows

Ann of Norway The giving of love is the greatest love one shows. Unconditioned love, where the one loved is paramount, their wishes being what one wishes them to have, that is pure love. Thank you dear Lyz with love in your heart, I know. Ann.

liked

especially the rhythm of the first 2 verses. I felt that the first 5 lines of the last verse lost it a bit since there is no rhyme scheme, but then it picked up and the last line is apt. cheers Ross

To render someone speechless

Ann of Norway Is something strong indeed, and means that the little piece of poetry on the little piece of paper will, even though, tiny float on into the mind and give a good feeling when it is seen again, changed into your own thoughts, yes? Thank you dearest Jayne for your appreciation, love from me.

Well expressed, I am fond of

Well expressed, I am fond of seeds. Seeds of truth, thought, happiness. Dormancy but never death, lovely. raskin

Maybe we cannot avoid those too raskin

Ann of Norway Some things are inevitable, but then we don't have to glorify them do we? Yes you love the wild things and the beach, and they are such good metaphors for our thoughts aren't they. You have written some lovely poetry and I like it very much too. Love to you and a long life Ann.

Every poem could and should

Every poem could and should be a seed of inspiration. Birthing anew. We often tend to complicate our poems and our responses.... what else does a tender seed need but fertile ground, a little rain, a little sun? Love, Anna "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach
