Grumpy Old Git
Old age held in fear
feelings so unsound
in my minds eye, memories clear
post puberty abound
once a youngster, bold hormones with a tear
a host of sensations unfound
supped from my father’s beer
ailing, churning unbound
Oh life’s pristine fool, from the path did veer
much uneven ground those virgin feet found
learned lessons and didn’t always hold them dear
oh youth, so arrogant and profound
instead a crock, an old dear, death seems near
teenagers seem to surround
energetic music, tunes from every sphere
wish Old Blue Eyes was around
I’ve become my mother I have found
no longer the callow youth you hear?
experienced, feel I’m on solid ground
damn it I’m old, I’m out of here
