Rythms of a rose

Reflective tears of deepest blues
fall softly down her cheeks,
but rythms change
and like a dying rose
transform to blackened hues.
Together they lay in solitude,
battered girl with rose in hand
her dreams now lay
upon her grave,
as scattered petals
in shades of black.

Striking poem here

First and foremost I hope your niece is well friend. I work with these battered men and woman and children everyday and how this poem hit me like a brick. We had a special on tv last friday night on domestic violence and you are correct when the red flags go up get out. I am going to write a book for the victims of these terrible happenings, I see some things sometimes my stomach and of course my heart just breaks, of all ages, race, gender, nationality, etc. It is horrible. I pray for your niece to be okay and know that if you ever want to pm me I would be more then happy to chat with you. Booze, drugs, anger and control in the perpetrator is always, or in most cases seems to be a big factor in domestic violence. So sad to hear this of your beautiful niece. Most sincerely Magics02 xoxoxo TIME well spent is TIME well lived

First of all, thanks for your comment about my poem. Second, what a blessing you are to work with the abused. Good luck with your book, by sharing your experiences, you can open eyes, and maybe change the world for the better. ________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Dear Janice

That is a relief. There was nothing like support groups etc years ago for women. The older generation were too proud and advice from their mums those days was, dont tell anyone and put up with, it more or less. Now us women have a voice, and no, we wont shut up. You will be a brilliant support to your niece as you are a passionate soul. Thank you for sharing. XX

Good poem Jan

As always so subtle and descriptive...... Many of us have been there..... If you were catholic it was your cross to bear. The hard part is having the courage and the stamina to stand up to the bully....No one can do it for you.... and they never change.... at least for more than a few days.

Please do read

....my rose’s poem says it all. Roses are for ever They seldom die From wedding buttons To the grave perhaps They change colours On the way But do remember Roses never die… They live that way And In the hearts of mankind Love for keeps display Even when one is no more They still love relay Roses never die anyway And In books one opens As time lapses Rose petals one finds As time collapses Dried petals memory recall Petals never fail nor fall Remember roses We all are after all Roses never die That’s final once for all.
