the man of witsdom
feel-o-chauffeur strollin' 'long one day,
as 'twere in the merry month of may,
his whistlin',his sighin', philosophizin'
in his gaunt gullet abruptly dyin'
as he saw lil' mary jane.
the sky is blue, as everyone knows
of this i've conclusive proof.
amidst all this thinkin', his heart was sinkin'
as she bared her ample ... boots.
the sky is blue, i told you so,
why you's gon' tempt me, woman, oh!
replied she, but not the moon below;
it's one for which you'll shoot.
he scratch'd his pate, he pondered a bit,
then t'wards the lunar sphere he slid,
decided feel-o-sophie's loads of ... wit-
and then pronounced: to hell with it.
