Awakening Meditation

I came to You in rags
and You loved me,
You said "be beautiful"
I came to You in anger
and You loved me
You handed me a mirror
and said "look inside"
I came to You in sorrow
and You loved me
with nothing but my own beauty.

You come to me in silence.

We walk in beauty,
My Love.

Lol, Indy, you said in one

Lol, Indy, you said in one sentence what it took me a page to write and while I was writing it. ;-) Forever hugs, Anna "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach

I was referring to my comment, not my poem, which, of course, is a thing of beauty. lol. I wrote this poem a couple

I wrote this poem a couple of days ago for Poetry Chaikhana. It is a *spiritual poem* in as much as the You refers not to a man but the sense of *god* we all have even if we're atheists... For me this god is one of ultimate Beauty which is Love. And the way to Love is through seeing one's own beauty. Most of us have been taught by the mirrors of religion, family, society, peers, ethnicity, intelligence, wealth, health, etc. that to be who we are, exactly as we are is less than beautiful. That's the beginnings of self-loathing, which are the fingers that extend into the world of hate. Blessings to All, ~Anna "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach

..and you bless us with this little beauty too

Ann of Norway It is you who are the beauty, however anyone describes the beautiful, you are beautiful from all angles, in all ways and we love you and you bless us with this little beauty too and we are made happy to know what beauty is. Anna, from Ann.

hi kailash ana

I liked this, its simply written yet deals with profound matters. I thought the ending not as good as the body of the poem, specifically using beauty again, but still its very effective. hari om tat sat. Ross

Hi Ana

I'd just been meditating in bed and got up to see this. (its sunday morning here)i was great fan of Ram Dass and his guru Neem karoli Baba and loved Ram Dass's first book 'Be Here Now" i thought you might be into it from kailash being in your pen name. I meditate and pray a lot, I pray to the Heavenly father and christ but also use Om and other mantras. Don't usually mention it to many people since there is so much cynicism etc. but have had enough spiritual experiences to be convinced of the divine reality.

That’s it, Ross, isn’t

That's it, Ross, isn't it? Once we have experiences of the spirit, there's an internal silence that remains undisturbed. And presence itself does the convincing. Both Ram Dass & Neem Karoli Baba are of the crazy mystics school. I tend to see myself in that light. lol.
