Till the Next Time...

A thousand,
no ! a million times
I have tried to picture
your face,
but as my memory ages
so does its recall, of you

the first frost came this morning,
I walked barefoot, knowing
you were there with me,
the spirit for life
you left inside me,
is now my guide
and burns my trail

my feet numb,
I shiver remembrance
and goosebumps form
as forever I will look back

I am haunted
by the footprints
that are not
next to mine

Jayne, this poem reminds me

Jayne, this poem reminds me of *Footprints*. Strange thing about memory, it fadess but the feelings......... last for a lifetime. Please do not separate the last line from the last stanza. It can't stand by itself and no comma is needed. Love, Annamom "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach

Dear Mum

I have to say with time the feelings (not so much the grief) has intensified I can now feel about somethings without falling to pieces ... but there are those few memories or moments that at just a thought can bring me undone ... thanks for your comment thats the best thing you could say ... 'footprints' has a special meaning for me was given to me when I needed some hope I guess you could say ... and I agree with your suggestion and I fixed it ... I wasnt sure whether to leave the space or loose it love and hugs JayCee x x x Quote:- It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense.---Robert Green Ingersoll

Loss of a child...

for a mother, must be such a terrible thing. I cannot profess to know that kind of pain. Mothers carry a child, inside themselves and share their body. A man cannot do that. I have dealt with loss of loved ones, but this cannot compare. So sorry for your loss. You be tough all you want, but having a good cry, never hurts to ease the pain. Higgest bugs, and lotta love~ Gee

Dear Jayne

I, too, thought of *footprints* as I read this. Then I thought it was about losing someone very close to you. It is sad with an aura of beauty surrounding it. Love, Cat

Dear Cat

Its funny that poem didnt come into my mind till Anna mentioned it but I know what you both mean ... it is about losing someone very close today is an anniverary im struggling in the early hours of it dont know how I am going to get through the day its always a hard day ... losing children is never easy and time doesnt make it so just makes it magnify for me ... its hard to explain you think you cant grieve anymore and it hits you again ... love and big hugs Jayne-Chloe Quote:- It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense.---Robert Green Ingersoll

Leaves me wondering

if you will ever disclose who is this person who has strayed from you, that he inspires so many beautiful poems...This poem was exceptionally beautiful. Your sister in ink, Jhena

Ah Seren

So many of your poems evoke so much of my own sadness and pain that I can relate to them on a profound level. As ever, you have touched a raw nerve and I don't know if I should thank you for that or merely praise your craft in its ability to do so! To Our Poetess of Note Thank you! Boni

Brilliant

Reminds me of `Footprints in the Sand` when there was only one set of footprints because God was carring him...Superb JayCee. Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you." By Mary Stevenson Rosina xena465

Seren,outstanding work.

I need just to tell you yesterday i also read your dream poem "again" and last night i dreamt that the man i bought my house from was sitting in my arm chair, i asked why was he here, and he said he had changed his mind and did not want to leave his house! in my dream there were even lawyers, i woke up and went to shut all my windows and doors! so now just to say your poetry leaves footprints in my mind you are so wonderful at writing and as much as you look forward to reading everybodies work im sure they will agree we and i look forward to yours! Hugs to you shirley harrison

I have actually dreamed some of my poems I have posted here and I dream in colour which I ahve been told its not possible lol but I do all the time ... and your message came at a time I needed a lift ((hugs)) love and big hugs JayCee x x ("Quote:- Death is the great adventure beside which moon landings and space trips pale into insignificance. Dear Lyz

There are few poems I find hard to read but this is one of the ones I will have to come back to later ... I sometimes wonder if it gets easier and then look back and know it doesnt love and biggest hugs JayCee x x x x ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it.
