Escapades to Joydom

Reclined in an easy chair
in the evening of life
I recount each joyous moment
strung together fine
in the beads of this Rosary
as much yours,
as much mine...

I lose count of the beads
like seasons they come and go
only to return more vivid and stronger
when I ponder a  while longer
to rock with your silhoutted frame
perched on the arm of my chair
gently tousling my hair...

Now each bead in the Rosary lustres
like the blush upon your glowing cheeks
when I slipped the ring on your finger
with a whispered "will you be mine"?
Remember when you lost your puppy
I brushed your tear as if mine?
such moments asunder,
in these beads are confined..

Even moments we wished would perish
stay strung amidst these beads
each time I strum a melody
the twine gently twings
without them I just know
my Rosary would be undone
so too my escapades,
to continual joydom..
