GAIA

Fertility's loss of egg posed a problem,
Ovum alone serves something blank!

Mother, mother, my heart throbbed,
A dry voice murmur from somewhere,

Who is the real God?  Male or female?
They speak of Gaia, we speak of Zeus!
Yet fertility remained a conundrum.

Gaia lives in a forgetful mist, exists alone.
Motherhood questioned, she is alone!
Reproduction in the absence of eggs?
Gaia's child had no father at all!
There was a voice before the birth,
We call it chaos--Gaia was Gaia was born

Vast expanse of ocean borne by Gaia
Is it true she lay with Uranus, her son?

Nay--Gaia was self-born, a genetic mystery
Torrential rain accumulated on Earth
Genetic wonder happened.  Mother Earth
Earth is Gaia. Aphrodite came.

Castrated Uranus.  Gaia's children Echidna and Typhon.

Self-born Shiva, Stentorian
Lord Vishnu lay on a banyan leaf,
Deluge.  Vishnu's introspection.
Somewhere he heard a voice, stentorian...
A woman's voice. "Nothing apart from me.
I am everything...I I=am everything.."

Mother God was born.  Gaia, or Devi?
What is in a name!  Power packed woman.
Pray her.  Acquire strength.
Divergent forms of Devi.  God is mother.
Sara-la-kali or Devi or Gaia--
Earth is the mother.  One feminine God,
Only one God.  I bow my head.
Feminine God, reproducing God,
Fertility sustains life.  I adore Her!

Hello

Nice to meet you. I love reading about mythology and the different pantheons. Was Vishnu the Elephant God? My favorite lines are: Self-born Shiva, Stentorian Lord Vishnu lay on a banyan leaf, Deluge. Vishnu’s introspection. Somewhere he heard a voice, stentorian… A woman’s voice. “Nothing apart from me. I am everything…I I=am everything..” Always, Cat
