Private Reflections

I had an idea in my mind the other day,
but it didn't really matter much

like a feather to the touch,
no harm, no foul.

I thought of it again with you, just now
but knowing you, you wouldv'e just made fun,

until heartstrings would've come undone
a thing I can't allow.

~

An epiphany came to me the other night,
but I couldn't see it through my tears

it's like hanging up dark chocolate chandeliers,
they melt all over the floor.

So blame the rich, and tax the poor,
and hold it silent to your vest

I'm really glad I am so blessed
why was I so  worried for ?

~

I had that dream the last twilight
but, in spite of all the things I think I am,

no one really gives a damn
but, that's not odd.

Many roads, I've been allowed to trod,
and at times I've put my worries on the shelf,

and though I cannot quite forgive myself;
the one who will, is God.
