Bearskin Airlines
snow falling
the car radio playing the mix cassette
im already losing weight
cant afford to pay rent and eat
Then in 1994
you called and we were to meet
at a stop over at the Airport
the car had bald tires and i was so
careful I made it and looked in
the terminal at the passengers
waiting out flights grounded
but I never saw you
whom could miss the red hair
the pale features
those beautiful brows
Never thinking to have you paged
or enquire
so fearful even now of people
and things sometimes
I assumed you left
or had hidden away
so I made that my
great sadness on the way
home
to the cold apartment
couldnt afford heat
wondering for years
of that day
and still watching the
planes leaving the city
wondering of that night
what it was has and is
our history
and how I still
can drop through the
highs to sit with this
that driver driving home
and snowflakes piling
up on the roadway
how it still feels
