MATTHEW MY MAGNIFICO

His voice resonates through my being
A gift of voice flows within his singing
The voice of Matthew, his angelic sound
When he opens his mouth, a song so profound

For he is my Maestro, how great is he
He sings his melodies for you and me
I wonder in awe, of his loving grace
To see the Lord's blessings upon his face

Such a fine young boy, yes that he is
Talented and blessings for all to see
He carries a tune like no other
For his songs of love sang in wonder

Who would have known this nephew of mine
Could sing a fine tune, line after line
Again a silence falls in the packed church room
He's strong and wise, a blossom of blooms

He is a star, I wonder just how far
His songs become someday a star
He graces us with his very being
The voice of love, his poetic singing

Sing to the angels for they shall hear
A top the mountains you shed no fear
He leads the mightiest to follow his lead
His singing makes me fall to my knees

I am blessed to have you

Tonight

As I watched him sing for a packed church so brave so articulate his voice, gave me chills and yes of course brang tears to my eyes that I had to hide. I was so proud of him and gave him and the director this poem I wrote today for him. The director said they will be bringing around to the other churches in the community to sing and they even said someday he may go sing for the Pope. I was flabbergasted and he asked me if I would go to Italy with him and I said you bet I will. Just some Auntie's bragging rights going on tonite, I had a wonderful night. yes it was so beautiful last nite and I am so proud of him. Hopefully soon I will be able to put it on here so you may hear him. As you are a singer too I know you will appreciate it much. He is quite a young talented man and when he sings he sings with conviction and stays in tune the whole way through. I am just awed at him to say the least. Thank you Golden Lady

Thank you so much for the response to this poem. You know when he was a little boy and he came to spend the night with me he was always full of questions and he read everything. The day he got on my little piano and played a tune a couple of years ago I had asked him how did you know how to play that and he said I just did it. He had no notes or papers to follow I was shocked, he plays by thougth pattern and listening and how amazing it was. When he started to sing in the choir and he sings here at my home I was just blown away to say the least. Last night as he sang a solo I was focused ever so near and every sound that came out of his mouth on that song just sent chills in me. It is hard to write it in words, my heart filled up with joy and I was totally amazed of him. The director really is very impressed with him and they will be working closely together for many months to come. I will let you know of his progress. I gave this poem to the director and he just loved it. After working with many a childrens choir he says he sees and hears things in Matthew that he never heard before, That was the epitany of my night last night. I thanked him for his direction and all his work he does with him. Thank you Golden Lady for the nice comment and stars and I shall send them over to Mattie boy. Love you and hope all is going better for you with the knee and the passing of your dear Uncle. I feel what your going through as we also are a very close family. He is 10 years young
