In The Beginning

In the beginning

there was nothing. No thing.

Not emptiness, for there was nothing missing,

nothing vacant

therefore nothing to fill.

Two dimensional space-time knowledge

cannot comprehend not anything,

encompassing absence

non-existence.

Impossible hypothetical.

Darkness was on the face of the deep.

The Unimaginable Absurdity

Was.

Being Nothing.

Complete.

And with It was the Word.

The singularity of Love

which when splintered

forms the void

and kaleidoscopes into fractured emotion,

allowing the living waters to overflow into solidity.

No longer part of paradise

but frozen forever somewhere

are some perfect moments

in slices.

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

in the beginning

Hi Judyanne, Right up my alley, love pondering this creative process the nothingness from which all emerges. I am new to neopoets and easing my way so wanted to say I like what I read and I want more. Does the poetic process mirror the creation story? are we seeking to describe some of those perfect moments in slices? cheers manawa

Oh I love this judyanne, profound.

Ann of Norway Yes I do I do, you leave me floating in the ether of non existence, like a feather that once was part of a bird, is it still alive as a feather no and yet absurdly it exists, life all life is a paradox, it is and yet what IS we shall never know more than the brain knows of itself and as that involves the brain itself trying to find out what itself is......well...... "Darkness was on the face of the deep.".........the 'was' implies knowledge of it...slightly Biblical when this is outside all theories otherwise. "And with It was the Word." ..........as is this bit too! Just me loving your thoughts judyanne we love paradox, our brains love such don't they too? Love to you loveable you from annanya.
