Get behind me “santa”

If santa was a little thinner, with a tail and a couple of horns
Do you think we’d be so comfortable 'round the season he adorns?
We put his face up everywhere, but do we know the truth
When santa comes a’creeping, cloven hoofsteps on our roof?

And I said “Get behind me santa”, as you shape shift every scene
I just could not resist you, even though you treat me mean
I seem to be a magnet for the devilish kind
There’s something so appealing in a wicked, witty mind

I wonder who the man was, that started up the myth
I wonder what he’d think of all the merchandise and gifts
I wonder if we ever stop to see how far we’ve gone
and I wonder if we’d notice, long as he had that red suit on

Chorus

I watched you as you pondered, such a charismatic grin
You could play the perfect santa, yeh, but I know where youve been
and I could see out of the corner of my eye, a flicking tail
There’s always something cooking in your ho ho ho regale

Chorus

Love this!

I've noticed the anagram before and wondered about doing a piece on it, but glad to see it's already done so well. Reminds me of the joke about the dyslectic, agnostic insomniac. He lies awake in bed at night wondering if there is a dog. Cheers, Jess, Reprehensibly irrepressible

This IS WONDERFUL Anni-ha-ha, ho-ho!

Ann of Norway You roll us into the red robes of Santa and his jolly, too jolly smile, wrap our minds in his manners, we are enticed to grimace a face of slightly forced joy, and as we roll we are pronged against sharp forks the tail prods and prods unendingly reminding us of what he's all about, we end up at the bottom less devout! And broke! There's a Norwegian song that says and Christmas holds sway all the way to Easter, we use it as a kind of joke. But Santa, or Julenissen is the father of the nisser-the little people, all the red clothed male and female gnomes are there as his entourage in N. The biggest is imported from Saint Nicolas of Europe, but the tiny nisser win hands-down here. All children in the Kindergarten dress in red with pointed hats and freckles on their cheeks and we all eat the trad. porridge in the barn put out for the big Nisse. One nisse-several nisser. Love to you dear friend Anni of the vapours in my mind. Annuska.

Now this is a treat indeed...

Anni, Anni, Anni! Now this is a treat indeed! No milk and cookies left for Sanata Satan to devour... not unless it is the cookies of your computer and the milk of your soul... sucked through a straw! Now wonder is always Jolly and laughing his Merry Ho Ho Ho... as he tempts us all with gift on the 25th as well sell our very hearts and credit cards to him. The greed has superceded the idea of the season me thinks... Holly the prickly plant is his symbol and a red nosed (from all the sherry & wine) rudolph carrying him around on his drink-driven sleigh over the sky, prompted by a sharp jab of a trident! His tail hidden under his bobble hat, and that beard is really the satanic goatee just washed and fluffed out like an afro! I love this write Anni, and the great anagram use that would turn crimbo on its head! Lol! Have missed you here and I do hope you are having fun in whatever you are doing... best wishes to you! Dale :)
