Get behind me “santa”
If santa was a little thinner, with a tail and a couple of horns
Do you think we’d be so comfortable 'round the season he adorns?
We put his face up everywhere, but do we know the truth
When santa comes a’creeping, cloven hoofsteps on our roof?
And I said “Get behind me santa”, as you shape shift every scene
I just could not resist you, even though you treat me mean
I seem to be a magnet for the devilish kind
There’s something so appealing in a wicked, witty mind
I wonder who the man was, that started up the myth
I wonder what he’d think of all the merchandise and gifts
I wonder if we ever stop to see how far we’ve gone
and I wonder if we’d notice, long as he had that red suit on
Chorus
I watched you as you pondered, such a charismatic grin
You could play the perfect santa, yeh, but I know where youve been
and I could see out of the corner of my eye, a flicking tail
There’s always something cooking in your ho ho ho regale
Chorus
