fide et amor

Desperately gasping
For yet another breath
I'll take what I can get
These tired eyes
They look for you
Through the red blur
They beseech you
They settle on a static
Yet they crave you
And the scent you’ve left behind

I do too much
I do nothing at all
I would do much more
And take the fall
For you.
I’m over-affectionate
You underestimate
If you think I’ve done too much
You’ve seen nothing yet.
Or have you?

My stance falters
As I take a step back
My love lingers
As my faith falls flat
Maybe I will.. just let you be
Maybe then you just might see
Or perhaps it’s all in my head
..but I’m still breathing
And so I shall.
Walk away, love
I’ll chase you no more
My eyes tread your path
But I’ll follow you no more
With holes in our hearts
We’ll be as we were before
With hopeful eyes
fide et amor.
