A ROSE FOR MY SOLDIER

I am a rose the colour of
bloody battles
flowing through my
petals

I am a rose with
thorns like
bayonnets-
my petals
scattered over
distant plains

I am a rose with
smells to
entice
the warm
embrace of my
soldier
from a dusty
toil

Hate to be...8) I think having petals in the first two stanzas could be improved by using leaves in place of one usage so that three elements of the actual plant are used as are three essences of the plant (color, thorn. smells)...Maybe too neat and ordered and not as poetic so if it sounds odd then just ignore it okay ?
