The Passing

Open your eyes,
Look at me,
I'm here,
Can't you see?

You loved me for years,
I was there by your side.
Why do you cry now?
Come let me dry your eyes.

I love you baby,
You have my heart,
Why can't I touch you?
This is tearing me apart.

I feel so empty,
Yet so full,
Why stand by that gravestone?
I'm here for you.

Those flowers,
Can't be for me,
Open your eyes,
Please baby!

I opened my mouth,
But the words were never said,
But I can say them now,
Just don't treat me like I'm dead.

You have to hear me,
Just look my way,
Go away light,
There's still things to say.

Take that mournful look
off your face,
I'm here,
No other will take my place.

Just take my
outstretched hand,
Feel my force,
Please understand.

How can I be dead?
I can see you,
So I must be alive,
Don't walk away!

As you turn away,
I hear your voice as you pray,
"I love you,
Wished you could've stayed".

God...I love you...please stay...
