Fallen Rosemary

No valiance in surrender, no resistence, no fight,
The fall was a historical verdict.
Thus ended a lyricist, a mushaira.

The Rosemary in the scorching Sun--
Divested of powers.  Now he a nothing.

A faint shadow of Akbar, of Shah Jahan,.
A hapless old man ended in exile.
The last of the Mughal glory in exile.
A terrible end.  Begging bowl in hand.
The descendant  Bahadur Shah.

A deciderated wish to become Genghis Khan, Timur...
A futile wish.

The last of Mughal never resisted ..No fight
Meek submission.
Caught in Rangoon, you know he was Zafar!
Zafar means victory!

He was a lyricist, but his sword was rusted.
His high mansion crumbled.
Naturemade the verdict, a merciless verdict.
And it was mercilessly implemented.

U.K.

Let me just say that I know nothing of this subject, but the way it is written made me want to research... and to me, that is a very successful write. Richard

Dear U.K

You are really a great writer,I enjoyed reading your poem although just like Richard I know nothing of this subject but I must say the theme was very much appealing and I also like the way you play with words. Moloko
