All Four Tires

Rusted panels, bent in fenders
All four tires, so on they go
Dented hood, three rims absent
All four tires, so on they go
Seats without belts, comfort or covers
All four tires, so on they go
Missing rear window, unblinking red tape
All four tires, so on they go
Tagless plates, knocking front end
All four tires, so on they go

HI Jamadarie

I thought this was a cute and clever poem. I would have liked the ending to say all four tires flat. Still a nice poem. Pat

All Four Tires Poem

Thank you for reading it Pat. I agree with your thought of the alternate ending being a bit more funny, but it might not have bode well for the message.....I saw that car just this after noon and wondered "How is it possible that this car is still operational?".....it was as if the person driving were defying the laws of decomposition.

All Four Tires Poem

Thank you Ephraim. I just read some of your work because you mentioned my verse was not unlike your own. Your poems are witty, silly and tightly wrote. I laughed a great deal and now I want to see this town of Bristol for myself someday. I have such a funny bone and most of the poems I have posted here are a little to dark and bruding, but you might like the one I wrote called "Tea with the Absurd". It mirrors a bit of your world.

Thanks Magics02. It is nice to be welcomed into such a brilliant community of talent, candor and insight. A creative kingdom whose wealth of words run the gamut of a language all our own. Most excellent in deed.

All Four Tires Poem

Thanks Indi. I hope it did not come off as me making fun of those that drive these dilapidated jalopies so much as an awe struck observer of those who need so little to keep going.......amazing!
