Sa’tan

O my beloved second born

who sits at my left hand.

The burden of your wisdom is the hardest.

To be loathed,

feared for the Seven.

The lying, wrathful, envious tongue.

The greedy, proud look

that leads to sloth

lust and gluttony.

At first they were happy with Yeshu’a’s gift.

But because they wanted this lesson of right and wrong

they suffered me to manifest you.

Someone to do the dirty work,

tempt and test

until this story is finished.

O Sa'tan my son

I love you.

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

I can imagine what it must

I can imagine what it must be like being a mother to more that one child, especially if you're a working mother, housewife and peacemaker. Nice one Judy. Rosina xena465

Love this!

I read it literally, as the christian god letting go of his most beautiful angel to provide us choice, and the pain it must have cost him. As you know, I am an atheist, but this provides the christian god with a human aspect I could almost love. Written with a piercing concision, both emotional and declaratory. A wonderful work. hi jess

ok

O my beloved second son [second? I guess Jesus is first, but they are different categories, theologically speaking, Lucifer being an angel] who sits at my left hand. Yours is the hardest. [your what? your sacrifice? your loss?] they suffered me to manifest you. [is really interesting line to me! People create gods not viceversa and force their hand! Brilliant!] not much more to say. Like I said, almost surgically crafted for profound emotional and intellectual impact. Cheers, Jess, Reprehensibly irrepressible

hi jess

thanks - i've edited the third line, i think i would rather leave the word son, after all if the concept is that god is everything as everything is part of 'him', then he's angel too isn't he? i did wonder about making it 'second born' as i already use 'son' in the last lines, what do you think? thanks for your crit judy

Seven deadly sins, one good

Seven deadly sins, one good son, one *bad* son. So many mixed messages we get and give, religious or otherwise. I always wondered how the *good* son who never left his father's house felt about all the fanfare in welcoming back the *prodical*... even if our *goodness* is taken for granted... For me the concept of nonduality where everything is true as often as it is untrue (we get to decide which is which)... is the essence of responsibility. Are we our brother's keeper? Judas would be exonerated. ~A ]"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." ~ A Course In Miracles

Satan was the name of my Aunts cat

Ann of Norway Totally black he was with sleek fur due to all the cream and tit bits Aunt Glen gave him, he was her guardian and when she died, he was there beside her, on the pillow, still waiting for her to wake up. It amused the neighbours when she was out calling for him!!!! This is subtle judyanne, very subtle, and strikes the peircing thorns of dualism into our minds with force and a deep understanding of humanity. Wow what was that I just said? Not sure what to think of it! Enjoyed, well that's NOT the word I should write, this. One feels like smiting something and pouring out devilish words in a mass, or a Mass, I had better stop before I tread on hearts. Love to you annanya.
