The perfect lawn

Oh I wish I had gone for the turfInstead of just seedin’ bare earthIt would be lush and greenAnd a joy to be seenI wish I had gone for the turf Oh I wish I had plumped for the sodWhat green stuff we have, looks so oddThe pigeons are feedin’On all of my seedin’I wish I had plumped for the sod Why didn’t I listen to dadWhen he told me that seedin’ was badThe lawn would be thereAnd not patchy and bareOh I wish I had listened to Dad The next time will surely be turfI now know its value and worthFor the grass seed’s a dudWe’ve just patches of mud

Oh I wish I had gone for the turf

Speaking of seeds, how are you? ~A p.s. Cool V... "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." ~ A Course In Miracles

Anna, fancy asking me how I

Anna, fancy asking me how I am, you did ask so I'll tell you, sit back and relax and I'll let you know what's been going on. Firstly two weeks before Christmas my young lady and I parted company, she hung on to the savings and furniture etc. I moved in with Dad while I got things sorted out then a week before Christmas he fell over and broke his hip, he was in hospital for six weeks, in the meantime I was travelling 110 miles to work each morning then going to the hospital at night to see him. I rented a house and moved in at the beginning of January so then I was working full time with a 220 round trip everyday to visit Dad, shopping for furniture, pots and pans and all that malarkey. Dad got out of hospital at the end of January and is now doing quite well so since then its been just one visit a week. Then in February we were told that my company would be making 50% of my department redundant, it took till the middle of March to find that I still have a job. So to celebrate the fact that Dads much better, I still have my job and I've got me a nice new home I bought myself a shiny new motorcycle. So in answer to your question, I'm doing really well thanks. Think I'm about ready for some female company any tips for success would be most welcome. Regards John

Thanks Chrys, it’s only a

Thanks Chrys, it's only a small patch about 200 square feet, I don't know if I'm being impatient but it's been three weeks and no sign of any grass in the bald spots, anyway I had just chased off the pigeons for the umpteenth time when I said to myself "I wish I had gone for the turf" which reminded me of a Pam Ayres poem "I wish I'd looked after my teeth" et voila! I've now revamped it and added another verse. Glad you liked it John

Rosina, I’m glad you

Rosina, I'm glad you enjoyed this one, it's a bit of rant at myself for going for the cheap/easy option. John
