The Human Spirit
I can enlighten why I lost my way
with words that became invisible.
When my mind chooses to become void
because of insecurities within myself
it's only then that sense seems applicable.
There are times when we have to shut down
in order to resume our human emotions.
To recollect what was once of significance
sometimes we have to disconnect
to find again, life's valid importance.
I ran away out of human weakness.
When things got too tough, I ducked for cover.
Hid myself in a security blanket
one that I possess and embrace in duress
similar reactions of a jilted lover.
When you see a child in the arms of a mother
held, loved and kissed with tenderness.
We look upon that view with sheer euphoria.
But a child physically and mentally bruised
we're plagued with visions, so horrendous.
Poetry is a release of emotions
vehemence that helps us establish sanity.
I write about good things, the bad and the ugly
which, has beneficial wisdom for our existence
an understanding of truth - humanity.
