Not Quite Tamed

I'm not quite tamed you know, not quite perfectly trained
to listen to the corruption and disintegration of our union.

" She's not quite right you know, not quite right in the head
we'll have to straighten her out, so the doctor said".

"He's not quite up to the mark you know, not quite made of the right stuff
we need to find a sterling man to  cut through all the fluff."

"They're not quite making the mark you know, not quite hitting the grade
we need to hire a tutor or two before their education might fade".

"Our country's not quite succeeding on the world stage you know,
not quite creating the wealth, not quite showing  us the way".

We're all not quite perfect,  all not quite created equal,
we all need to take a look at ourselves
and help the
weak & feeble.

To true

We do have to look at ourselves, and maybe take more responsability for our peoples needs. Especially the elderly and frail, I think your poem says it very nicely.. Regards Roscoe...

Hello Roscoe

Thanks for the comments...yes...we're all guilty of winner takes it all...still it's the driver for progress...but a civilized society has the resources to provide some relief for the failures as well.....or so we'd like to think? Ellie.

I like the use of “not

I like the use of "not quite"...lots of powerful undercurrents swirling between the lines...much said that is not said...encourages a bit of contemplation of how clearly we see others and present ourselves... michael

I like the quotes and

I like the quotes and phrases, all very relatable. The repetition of "not quite" is great. It's a message we hear, process and under perform because we are "not quite". The ending is good, overcoming our weaknesses to assist those who need a hand. Very nice. raskin

I appreciate your ideas...the repitition is what is key here...banging home the messages we are bombarded with daily. Ells x

}}}APPLAUSE{{{…great read,

}}}APPLAUSE{{{ ...great read, really an eye openner..."nobody is perfect.." so they say, and this piece elaborates it (for me).. we tend to overlook so many facts in life, that ours is slowly fading with it... i like this line: "We’re all not quite perfect, all not quite created equal, we all need to take a look at ourselves and help the weak & feeble"

Hey, Long time!...yes...fed up with the idea that you're only worth something if you're the winner..or top dog..or rich...or gifted...most of us aren't! Ells x
