Silence Issues

the trees now lay
deluded in their thrall,
in the blood and chaos
of a blackened corpse

after reading the ashes
on the ground
they offered nothing
but spirals of smoke

the dog has been
long buried
the leash and collar,
rust in the dirt
as soil encrusts it
in our anguish

glass shards
of a glittering face
scattered
with the four winds,
and nary a whisper

the silence of heaven
and depth of hell,
now cast no reflection
the mirrors are silent

and without a ripple
I issue invitation,
as quiet finds me

Hi Jayne. It's good to be back and thank you very much for everything. What a poem to come back to, to read! I particularly like the way you describe the remains of the poor dog, you know my love of animals. I love the way it takes us through all the events, but still you manange to find quiet amid the calamity. Sheer genius Jayne. Rosina xena465

Emotional turmoil-death, a

Emotional turmoil-death, a renewal, and sense of peace. A reconciliation with ones inner self is how I read the intense imagery in this triumphant victory dance of the spirit. I got a break. Ann is on her twelfth load of laundry.I still can't quite figure out how we generate that much laundry since we've been naked for two weeks, but I guess it's a woman thing. Love B

Silence...

The peace that silence brings, [or is it the silence that peace brings?] is what makes us rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world again. Some of us never find the respite, to heal, and come back for another round. I too, liked the dog and collar lines. I had my Rugby cremated. His collar, a 'Beggin' Treat' and a favorite toy, are with him, in the box on my dresser. When I see it, I remember the good times we had, and feel the love and and peace he brought me. Strange isn't, how we find comfort? Life and death, the emotional-turmoil, as orphani says. Great write! ~ Gee
