The Shaman

In awe wrapped silence
he walked into the room.
Feathers trailing,
Brother of the Moon.

Black Suns in those eyes of his
to make her realize
the warmth that she's been seeking
is wrapped inside his sighs.

His voice a tender whisper
carried by the wind
caressing her soul
what she is and what she's been.

"Come little sister
walk this world with me.
Just take my hand
let me show you what we'll see."

Breath caught in wonder
she reaches for his hand,
and so gently enters
the heart inside the man.

But light comes streaming
down corridors of time
bringing the veil
that makes us hard to find.
A deep sad longing
now came with the goodbye.

"How will I ever find my way to you?
My Dreamcatcher's broken,
will good dreams still come through?"
A broken Dreamcatcher hangs above her bed
"Your dreams are in my care now."
The Shaman softly said.

Awakened by the Sun's kiss
the morning comes so fair,
smiling, she is touching
the feather in her hair.

Well, there it is there, Kalig...

Is this a dream? Not necessarily... I call it a Mystery...mine... The silence is awe wrapped as in; "wrapped in awe" and the warmth is found; "wrapped inside his sighs". And that wraps it up! Thank you for taking all that time to type your comment. You're too kind. Ciao Kalig. Raven PS: Thank you for the 'welcome back'; but I haven't gone anywhere.

A Shamanic dream

Ann of Norway Oh and the Shaman's have such wonderful wonderful trinkets and feathers and all sorts of things don't they? Some of the finest art articles there are, so full too of expression and fantasy, I like this intrusion into the sanity of the world of night, like a dreamed man coming and going and yet leaving his presence forever in the memory. Is it the Native American Indian's dream-catcher hanging there above her head, then you have seen that they work your Raven Woman. I like the little bit that Theo recommended it sets the magic atmosphere more quickly. (In awe rapt silence,) Love to you from Ann

Dear Raven I especially

Dear Raven I especially liked the lines: As light comes streaming down corridors of time bringing the veil that makes us hard to find a deep sad longing came with the goodbye so many of my dreams flicker through images of love's found then ultimately lost it's all a matter of taste we're all above criticism as long as it helps we can follow it. keep writing love John. p.s I have a new poem on my page you might like I'd love to hear your views. Happy Easter to you and yours

Hello John...

Yes... it's all a matter of taste... But a little courtesy is always sweet, and goes a long way. The only thing I follow, is my heart, my intuition, and my Ravens. Always my Ravens. Ciao John. Raven

well it’s only that I

well it's only that I thought that some of the other comments made about this poem were unnecessarily cruel. I mean there's criticism and there's criticism. I hope it won't discourage you from sending in your poems. And it's always nice to hear from you. Love John.

Hello John...

I don't feel any of these comments are cruel...just a different perspective. I don't need 'courage' to send in my poems...I just need to be in the mood. And right now, I'm in the mood for a melody... Ciao John. Raven

Hey there Billy!

I'm happy you like this one... And I feel your mind is just fine... and 'you can tell it like it is' in your poems; but, oh, so smoothly... Here's one of my favorite lines from your poem "Who Knows": "Is death easier than life? I would say yes" (I just love this line! It always makes me smile...) Thank you for this visit; and for your sweet words. Be kind to your Self Billy. Gentle regards, Raven

Hello and Welcome neighbor!

We are indeed, in the same neck of the woods...San Diego...home of the Kumeyaay-Diegueño Nation! I'd like to share something about my name; since you've been so gracious sharing your thoughts with me.... I feel you know by now, that Ravens are my love and my life; but that's not the reason my name is Raven. It is my father who named me Raven; because the Raven, is my fathers' Totem Bird, his Spirit Bird. (My mother got to chose the middle name.) We're very close in Spirit; he taught me to Dance, and to seek Balance through Dance. He also taught me to take care of his Ravens and Crows. My mother says that she always knew where I was when I was a little child; all she had to do was follow the Ravens! And this hasn't changed, and never will. I'm very happy you're here...Sister Raven in the Nest. Gentle regards, Raven I am alive like you, and I am standing beside you. Close your eyes and look around, you will see me in front of you. -Gibrans'words on his epitaph. Gibran Khalil Gibran 1883 - 1931
