This Faded Photograph

By: Arjamagne Monsalud y Calidguid

…been gazing at this blurred picture, reminiscing on those years,of smiling faces and memories, that seems to fade within one shot… ..been staring at an old photograph, traces of tears flowing from my eyes, creases have marked its years of existence, and dust has covered the outline of its appearance… …been looking at this faded picture, reminding me of  who’s who,and of those who have come to past, which reminds me of you… I’ve been looking at these faded photographs, still in denial of what happened, not knowing if I have to let go,now all I have of you is……this faded photograph!

sad and evocative...

Like the way you carried the theme of the 'fade'...even our memories fade...but the essence remains. What did people do before the hard image? This made me think of my life in a series of snapshots...tracing my age and life events thro image....big gaps and different hairstyles...but the smiles remain. Lovely write. Ells x

Condolences to you

So sorry to hear of you losing your Mom at such a young age. She would be so proud of you for the writing of this poem and the many others that you do. Yes she battled hard with the Big C as I have also lost loved ones from the same thing. I know how hard it is and my prayers go out to you Alone. By the way I love this poem and your wording was beautifully arranged. Love, Mona Learn to live, learn to forgive. Life is too short.

I really love your poem. It

I really love your poem. It has a heartfelt reminder for me of a photo. I have a family picture of my mum, who died age 49 in 1972, sitting in the middle of all her family...5 sons and four daughters, and it too has crumpled a bit and faded, but not the memories. I've since lost a sister from that photo too. Thank you Alone for sharing this sad, but beautiful poem. Rosina xena465

very nice

We poets Each one of us is unique I have no ability to comment, Nor correct, As any comma and full stop change, Will the poet’s originality exchange? But five stars we must give So the poet is ready For his next kill. Gr8888888888 poetry Lovely Spot light worthy The love of mums Is for eternity A mother dies But not her love You know what I say The jaded memories Never fade away Moms forever In lives do stay My mom died Years gone past my way Love is all that we share Faded portraits We do care loved still by one and all
