Reincarnation

Reincarnation

Three score years and ten I've seen,
from suckling babe hard to wean.
Infant small with tottering walk,
from my mother I learned to talk.
Then boisterous child, hard to hold,
Parents had to sometimes scold.
School days where I had to learn,
for the teenage I did yearn.
Then adulthood with all its cares,
a loving wife, my life does share.
Now I've outlived my stay,
I am coming to the end of my day.
One more breath or maybe two,
where my love, I'll think only of you.
Then the journey into the unknown,
Oh! How this life of mine has flown.
Up, up, into that great light,
that shines on me so wondrous bright.
Here refreshment shall be mine,
I'll stay a while in light that shines.
For later when my time shall come,
to this earth I will return as one.
Whose fulfilment on this earthly plane,
Must surely start all over again.
Through the tunnel into life,
Once again that weary strife.
Oh cosmic force, eternal be,
Let me again return to thee.
For many are the lives I've seen,
from Beggar man to royal Queen.

Dear Bern

Your poem had a good flow but the presentation threw me off. No biggy though. I enjoyed the read. Lyz. XX

Ephraim

As one gets older Eph the time runs away with one and one often thinks of the future, Here is one of my poems on the subject. Death. Death I know that you are near, My time is coming to an end. I will soon be in my eightieth year, Perhaps you me an ear can lend. Know that I have no fear, Just a plea that you take me fast. Lingering a slow painful death do you hear, Will make me curse you with full blast. Yours is not the best of work, With a scythe that is never still. I sense that you are not the one to shirk, You will take me at your will. Do not creep in silently when you come for me, I will surely for you hold still. Just do it fast remember my plea, For I know that you will have your kill. It is just as well if it has to be me. Best wishes from Bern
