Conversations That Lasted

 Conversations that lasted

 Into the early morning

  Come to mind

    Words that were said

    Seem to keep me company

     This winter night

      Dreams that lost wings

       At the sound

       Of goodbye

        Beg to rejoice

        In your hazel eyes

       That keep one mesmerized

        What I would give

         To rekindle nights filled

         With ecstatic passion

        Lips that resurrect

        Eyes that hypnotize

        Skin as smooth

       As luxurious velvet

      How could they

      Vanish into thin air

       So quickly

Ring rhe Guinness book of records!

This could be the first time I have nominated a love poem to spotlight! Beautifully written, scans well, wordcrafting excellent, emotional content sincerely intimate without a trace of triteness or cliche You made me have a feeling, you bastard. The only line that doesn't quite work for me is- That keep one mesmerized perhaps just mesmerising would do. Dreams that lost wings, at the sound of goodbye. She didn't deserve someone who could say it like that! ~ Gee

Very nice, but we have to

Very nice, but we have to get that formatt undercontrol. Well worded, hardly felt like a love poem. The longing and angnst were felt. I loved it Paul. Well deserved spotlight. Julie D.D.

Paaaauuuuulllllllll Anagnostopoulos

HA. Got it right on the second try (forgot the 3rd 'o' the first time). Although, I may have put in an extra 'u' that isn't necessary on 'Paul', but my eyes could be playing tricks on me! I'm back!!! I like everything except the line 'This winter night' on the second stanza. Something about it just doesn't fit to me. It seems too abrupt, I think. Perhaps 'on this winger night' or maybe 'on winter nights'. Well that second suggestion is the same amount of syllables as what you already have but it somehow sounds less abrupt to me...hmm. Just let me know what you think, okay? Kelsey PS: congrats on spotlight!

i especially liked the first two stanzas. Those nights are most memorable as well as most haunting.
