I'm an autobiographical poet. It's all about me, me, me. I'm bored with mining my own memories and want to move on, creatively speaking.

I basically took a year off Neopoet to get on with my life, I find this website so absorbing of my very precious freetime and also being a competitive person professionally, I find that I want to submit my latest work, quicker, and more thought-provoking than my mates on here! (Seriously, tell me I'm not the only one who raises their game when a poetic 'mate' has submitted the most sublime piece?)

So, I'm flexing my newly found poetic wings...trying out, experimenting with new genres...albeit ones founded on a realistic, non-fictional basis. Can't be having with mystical, fictional , flim-flam. It's just not in my personality 'make-up' to be so whimsical...trust me, i've tried...but writes about made -up subjects, fictional characters, flights of fancy and lovey-dovey-navel -gazing now bore the shit out of me. Tried religious themes...but if I wrote my innermost thoughts on the Almighty I might offend large sections of the Neopoet community!

Just to say, this site has given me a vehicle to have and develop my 'voice' as a creative writer.
