an epiphany for the soul

I have a fantasy of a unified society

but race is the issue, a cross to bare

darkness and disillusion

Human nature remains the same

distinct in its belief

resolute and unjust to the core

Our livelihoods and homes under attack

Threatened by ignorance

A jingoistic fervour

Deep emotion, the minority’s spirits run high

Apathy is a drug dished out to the majority

Lord free your child from insanity

But will there ever be a new morning on the horizon?

With this day will there be a revelation

Will society escape with an epiphany for the soul?

"Human Nature" is an evil lie.

the greatest crime ever committed against humanity was the concept of "Original Sin" We are not evil in need of salvation, we are taught our worthlessness and evil and behave so because of the 3 most evil religions in the world. In alphabetical order- Christianity, Islam and Judaeism. We can all choose goodness without fear of an afterlife, which is the refuge of people who won't take responsibility for this life. Oh, the content incensed me so much I forgot to comment on it's poet qualities, which are pretty average. Preacher Man

You sir are agressive. The idea is to give some constructive criticism, so that people's writing can improve. Not to rant and rave and Preach the gospel according to you. Try critiquing the work (in a helpful manner) and climb out of your pulpit and step down here, with us mortals.

You are right, of course, and I apologise.

you wouldn't believe how much any mention of "human nature" in a negative sense enrages me, blind rage, I admit. I have re-read your poem and am afraid that form-wise, language use etc I still find it pretty average. Not bad by any means but lacking in a vividity of thought and musicality of language that would raise it to greater heights. I would like to offer concrete suggests but the best I can manage right now is that you put it away for a lttle while, write some new stuff, then come back to it with fresh eyes. Hope this helps.
