What is my Path?

Lying on my bed,
Staring at the sky,
Pondering questions,
Wondering why.
Why did I do that?
Why make that move?
Is my path destined?
Or do I get to choose?
He was asleep,
In the back of a car,
His mate passed out,
Through the windscreen he went far.
A child lost his Dad,
Through a cancer unseen,
He was barely thirty,
It makes you want to scream.
A young girl does drugs,
To hide the pain,
Knowing it does her harm,
And she has nothing to gain.
So tell me, Oh Wise One,
Do I get to choose?
Or am I like everyone else?
Am I already screwed?
