He's My Dad
You took him away
The one man I depend on
And you took your selfish dreams and fulfilled them
With no regard for mine.
He is my best friend and I trusted you to love him like I do.
To hang from his every word
To remember the shade of his brown eyes
The pattern of his hairline.
He has been there from the beginning
And will be until the end.
So take him as far as you like,
The end of the country, the continent, the earth,
You can take him to a different universe
But he's my father
And he'll always be mine like I'll always be his.
