At the End of My Rope

What a day we live in
with such a myriad of tools,
for life to use to stimulate our souls;

we're allowed all kinds of spice
to liven up our lives,
which ultimately blinds us of our goals.

Consider irony,
and serendipity,
"paybacks are a bitch", and also "butts of jokes";

all the different signs,
situations, and attitudes,
and how fate tends to surround us, "with these folks".

What lesson will today provide ?
What test of inner strength ?
Which avenue, "will put us on the spot ?"

Some things will just confuse us
or test our integrity
as we blindly try to connect the "dot to dot".

I try, whenever possible
to steer clear of the paths
that would take me down the road, "to my demise";

if at the "end of my rope",
I'll just untangle all the knots,
because by rope, is not the way a blues man dies.

Hey Doc

You scare me sometimes, lol. This is brilliant. A change of pace from your softer side and between Jayne and your mum, all is said. You are a Blues man and right in what you write. How is Eight ball? Oh, and yourself,lol, all well I hope. XX

Hey back at ya, Lyz....

...didn't quite count on, (even remotely), that I could startling you !....L.o.l.! Seriously, I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to comment.....and PLUS, your comment was very eloquent, and was so chock full of positive "vibes"...WOW ! As for Eight-ball Johnson, he's doing fairly well...but, he's "broken"! Just like my poem, "Broken Pussy", on page number (4) in my complete works; I need to get him "fixed" ! Opie Taylor, was neutered when he was very young, but ol' Eightball Hardluck Johnson is going to have quite the time, being neutered @ the ripe ol' age of 1 & 1/2 ! He was given that middle name, for climbing up a purse strap in the closet...and ending up strangling himself to death. We found him, totally dead. Kind of like he was hanging at the end of his rope ! We performed CPR on him, and he came back to life ! So, therefore...he was appropriately named "Eightball".....you see, he only has 8 lives left. At any rate, we are all doing reasonably well up here in the High Desert. I hope & pray that, you and yours are happy, comfy, and full of grace as well ! Thanx again, Lyz...for everything ! "Write on"! sincerely, #{:-{)}8==== docmaverick.

Oh, how the blues man doth sound his soul! Catching up with your work, Doc... you know I love 'em. The Magician captured me in a box, spellbound. Now please put me back together again. ;-) ~A "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach
