MORTAL EMBERS

Embers burn even when
passion escapes me
residing in this vault of
thoughts admittance to
which is sacred .

A combination of fragrance
wafting effortlessly as if limp
on a breeze, destination
coming to rest where it does .

Like seedlings scattered on
fallow ground taking root in the
absolute , dwelling within as
how the earth felt when she was
young .

In time the spoil shall own this
mortal flesh, dis-dressed from all
that binds me the ever after find me .

Dear Z., I love the way you reference the mind. The sacred stated in the open yet still well hidden. P.

Zigs

I have just read a few of Cat's poems which gave me a feeling of calm and tranquillity. This one mirrors those feelings. I read it through a few times and you know me with my tempos and melodies, well, this one requires a very slow and gentle beat...beautiful. Last stanza is amazing. Perfect title too. regards, HS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth and yet nobody sees me".
