Spring Has Sprung (written partly in Chat)

Tiny sparrows at the feeder
fat old robins on the lawn
hot, fresh coffee on the porch
this is how I greet the dawn

Days are getting warm and longer
little tree frogs sing their song
everything is as it should be
and I feel like I belong

Rising fish upon the waters
earthworms stretching in the rain
bluebirds coming out of hiding
tell me that it's Spring again

Buds are sprouting on the trees
rabbits nibble greening grass
all my allergies are screaming
Spring can kiss my aging ass

I enjoyed it!

Hi, yes I really enjoyed the first 3 verses, but was let down by the last. It sprung my imagination, but I lost the correlation in the last. The connection to aging ass with allergies just didn't fit to me although a bit of a slight chuckle arose; but I loved the the first 3. My poem The dentist appointment also flickers with the humour in my last verse. Give it a read to see if you like it. It might share your humour where the great divide bridges from you in the US and me a Brit! cheers, WeLiveInHope

Dear Lonnie

Another smile greets me today. The twist at the end after such a beautiful description of your day, lol. I loved it all. XX

Dear Lonnie

I loved how it flowed from verse to verse. However the ending kicked my @ss, too. ROTFLMAO! Always, Cat
