Women Warriors 2

Get away from her you bitch - Ripley

Idealists foolish enough to throw caution to the winds have advanced mankind and have enriched the world.  -Emma Goldman

You're terminated fucker. - Sara Connor

The political arena leaves one no alternative, one must either be a dunce or a rogue. - Emma Goldman

I'm gonna kick your ass , - Max Guevara (Dark Angel)

A preoccupation with the next world signals pretty clearly an inability to deal credibly with this one. - Quell

Bored now . - (Bad)Willow

What is an anarchist? One who accepts the responsibility of choice - Odo

Thank God we're hot chicks with superpowers. - Faith

If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal. - Emma Goldman

I suppose Mother warned you about women like me? - Emma Peel

The accumulation of profit is like constipation within an organism. It leads only to disease and death. - Odo

It's mercy, compassion, and forgiveness I lack. Not rationality. - Beatrix Kiddo

I am much of my muchness! - Alice

A child free from the guilt of ownership and the burden of economic competition will grow up with the will to do what needs doing and the capacity for joy in doing it. It is useless work that darkens the heart. The delight of the nursing mother, of the scholar, of the successful hunter, of the good cook, of the skillful maker, of anyone doing needed work and doing it well—this durable joy is perhaps the deepest source of human affection and of sociality as a whole. - Odo

‘I drank to drown my pain, but the damned pain learnt how to swim’ -Frida Kahlo
and
‘feet? why do i need them if i have wings to fly’

You may be immortal but I can still do damage. How’d you like to spend eternity in 5 pieces? -Xena

It’s strange… The one I love most in all the world and the one I hate look exactly the same. -Xena

“I am not afraid…I was born to do this.” -Joan of Arc
“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” - Joan of Arc

“The stormtroopers had tied the Jewish people up to massive wheels,” she later recounts. “They were rolling the wheels along, and the stormtroopers were whipping the Jews. I stood there and thought, ‘I don’t know what I’ll do about it, but if I can do anything one day, I’ll do it.’ And I always had that picture in my mind, all through the war.”- Nancy Wake “The Mouse”

“If you send up a weather vane or put your thumb up in the air every time you want to do something different, to find out what people are going to think about it, you’re going to limit yourself. That’s a very strange way to live.” - Jessye Norman

Musicians have great arms, but it doesn't mean they can hold me- Aeron Maccloud

She Saved The World.
A Lot. - Buffy

I end this with one of my favourite warrior poets-

Bravo, excellent collage littered with passion, rage, duty, and intelligence, very refreshing feminist wave of spirited words. Loved women warriors 1 as well and often reflect back what you expressed inside of it. To me, women are tremendously passionate and I feel that their anatomy is symbolic at their incredible ability to contain, and be containers, but also of course not to be limited by that. The female is a beautifully guided mechanism and life force. I am very touched that you are receptive to observing that unique identity that women can wield. Of course any gender can wield anything but I am talking about the female collective, as you are.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful thoughts from a kindred spirit.  - Whitetea

Thank you to Seren, Judyanne, Dawningdaytripper, Whitetea and Inkdragon sorry if I missed anyone. I also hope you will excuse my presumption as a male taking this one on. Perhaps see my earlier poem, “Women Warriors” http://www.neopoet.com/node/10451
all my love to all my poet warrior peers,
Jess

All this talk of warrior

All this talk of warrior women qoutes and not one of the orginal internet and hero hit Xena warrior princess. So I have complied some of her, and compainions of the female persuasions famous quotes. Xena: It's not easy trying to prove you're a different person. ----- Xena: Don't confuse defending yourself with using a weapon. When you pull a sword you have to be ready to kill. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Xena: The first time you pick up a sword, you become a target. And the moment you kill...everything changes. Everything. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gabrielle: You're waiting for the right moment to say I told you so, aren't you? Xena: Nope. I'm waiting for you to say it for me. ----------------------- Gabrielle: Donât judge a scroll by its paper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Xena: You may be immortal but I can still do damage. How'd you like to spend eternity in 5 pieces? ---------------- Gabrielle: YOU USED MY SCROLL?? Xena: I had to improvise. There were no good leaves! I used a piece that hardly had any writing on it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Xena: It's not the Fates, it's not Ares, it's not something I ate, no, I have no poison dart marks, I have no Bacchae bites! Joxer: Is that a hickey? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messenger: The Green Dragon has become too large and must be made small again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lao Ma: Nothing is as soft as water. Yet, who can withstand the raging flood? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gabrielle: You owe someone so much you would just throw away these last few years? Xena: Yes. ------------------------------------------- Lao Ma: To conquer others is to have power. To conquer yourself is to know the way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lao Ma: The entire world is driven by a will, blind and ruthless. In order to transcend the limitations of that world, you need to stop willing, stop desiring, stop hating. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lao Ma: Heaven endures and the Earth lasts a long time because they do not live for themselves. Therefore she who would live a long time should live for others, serve others. ------------------------------- Xena: It's strange... The one I love most in all the world and the one I hate look exactly the same. LONG LIVE THE Warrior princess! Heheh. Realy though, how did this topic come about and you title it without any mention of Xena? Most of my quotes came from. http://www.bookrags.com/quotes/Xena:_Warrior_Princess Julie

Dear Jess

When you say women warriors I was unsure of the constraints or your idea of warriors I had a few i could think of so I have added them ... it these are ok ? let me know and I have about a hundred other women of non-fiction that maybe will fit the bill heres my first adding if you dont like any just ignore them England is not all the world. Mary Queen Of Scots ~~~~~ No more tears now; I will think upon revenge. Mary Queen Of Scots ~~~~~ "Talk not to me of the wisdom of women,--I know my own sex well; the wisest of us all are but little less foolish than the rest." Mary Queen of Scots ~~~~~ “We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat. They do not exist.” Queen Victoria quote ~~~~~ let me know if they fit the bill was unsure of what you mean by warriors cause loosely Victoria controlled Armies didnt fight but was in fact the commander in chief ... Mary of Scots of course was on horseback battling along-side her men she definately fits the bill love and hugs Jayne x x x

Oh and some from Joan of Arc

Oh and some from Joan of Arc forgot to add them lol “I am not afraid…I was born to do this.” Joan of Arc quote ~~~~~ “One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” Joan of Arc quote ~~~~~ “Hold the cross high so I may see it through the flames!” Joan of Arc quote ~~~~~ "You can't get a man with a gun that's for sure!" — Annie Oakley ~~~~~ "Keep your eye on the high mark and you will hit it. Not the first time nor the second and maybe not the third, but if you keep on aiming and keep on trying, you'll hit the bull's eye of success."" — Annie Oakley ~~~~~ I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains. Anne Frank ~~~~~ I simply can't build my hopes on a foundation of confusion, misery and death... I think... peace and tranquillity will return again. Anne Frank ~~~~~ I soothe my conscience now with the thought that it is better for hard words to be on paper than that Mummy should carry them in her heart. Anne Frank I just edited and put some more here ... lol sorry but Anne frank may not fit the profile But I love some of her quotes so here they are tell me if you want more I have a couple more hundred here lol love and hugs Jayne-Chloe

Jayne, my friend, possibly soul mate, these are great!

It was real WWs I was short for. This is a live work in progress, eventually I will try to write all the quotes in verse form with credits at the end. Thankyou so much! Cheers, Jess, “The political arena leaves one no alternative, one must either be a dunce or a rogue.” Emma Goldman

I will have to post it under my own name but credits

will be given to all contributors. This is a Neopoet poem, not just a Jess poem. I should mention some constrictions. You know I am a left wing ratbag. No quotes will be accepted from female fascists like Maggie Thatcher and Lina Wertmuller. Waiting for something from Frieda Kahlo. Dear Jesswe have one of our

Dear Jess we have one of our own sitting right under our noses .. I am searching for Quotes but they are thin on the ground I found this but will keep digging for more quotes from her Wake, Nancy Grace Augusta (1912 - ) AC, GM Born 30 August 1912 Wellington, New Zealand Occupation Servicewoman Alternative Names Forward, Nancy (married name) Website http://www.nzedge.com/heroes/wake.html Summary Nancy Wake, whom the Gestapo code-named "the White Mouse" was the Allies' most decorated servicewoman of World War II. The youngest of six children, Nancy Wake came to Australia with her parents when she was 20 months old. In the early 1930s she went first to England and then Paris as a freelance journalist and there met and married Henri Fiocca, a wealthy French industrialist. When the French government surrendered, after the German Army invaded in May 1940, Nancy Wake joined the French Resistance working as a courier and saboteur. For these 'special operations in France' Wake was awarded the George Medal (17 July 1945). Wake worked for the Intelligence Department at the British Air Ministry, after the war. She married John Forward, in 1957, before returning to Australia to live. In December 2001, Nancy Wake left Port Macquarie, New South Wales to live in Europe. On 22 February 2004 Nancy Wake was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia. The award recognises the significant contribution and commitment of Nancy Wake, stemming from her outstanding actions in wartime, in encouraging community appreciation and understanding of the past sacrifices made by Australian men and women in times of conflict, and to a lasting legacy of peace. ~~~~~ during an assignment in Vienna, the capital of Austria, Wake witnesses the impact of the Nazi regime first hand, including the persecution of Jews and other minorities. "The stormtroopers had tied the Jewish people up to massive wheels," she later recounts. "They were rolling the wheels along, and the stormtroopers were whipping the Jews. I stood there and thought, 'I don't know what I'll do about it, but if I can do anything one day, I'll do it.' And I always had that picture in my mind, all through the war." Nancy Wake ~~~ (1912- ) thought you might like the white mouse for your collection even better she was ours love and hugs Jayne-Chloe I got so excited when I remembered her hahaha have to find something appros and Frida “I hope the departue is joyful and I hope never to return.” Frida Kahlo quote “They are a bunch of coocoo, lunatic, sons of bitches surrealists.” Frida Kahlo quote “My painting carries with it the message of pain.” Frida Kahlo quote "I love you more than my own skin.” Frida Kahlo quote

had to say something again

There is a huge symbolism and identity in being a warrior. Men are often thought to be natural warriors and the title suggests and creates an equality to that perhaps a kind of spiritual (respectful)competition. Loved the quote by Odo and saved it.

Love this, Jess,

a Buffy quote will always draw me in :) Got some for you by opera singer Jessye Norman: "Problems arise in that one has to find a balance between what people need from you and what you need for yourself." "If being difficult means coming to rehearsals on time and being prepared, then I suppose I am difficult." (That one is quoted from memory) "If you send up a weather vane or put your thumb up in the air every time you want to do something different, to find out what people are going to think about it, you're going to limit yourself. That's a very strange way to live." Yours, ~Nina
