The Golden Feeling

I don't always tell you
exactly how I feel,

but, whether or not, I explain my heart
doesn't lessen that it's real.

We have this understanding
that I feel deep in my heart,

and the fact you feel it , too
can only mean we'll never part.

Separately, my heart and mind
believes this gentle thing,

that comforts me in sorrow
and can cause my heart to sing.

The pressure in my chest agrees
this feeling's wide and long,

so, wherever I go in my life,
I'll carry along this song.

For the melody's so precious
and the harmonies, sublime;

and it would be the same for us
no matter where we were, in time.

The power of our connection
is something no one else can know,

because our golden feeling
was allowed a chance to grow.

Well, it has more than surfaced
and has grown up strong, and true;

and the reason this has happened
is because of me, and because of you.
