Azimuth

I watch as twilight
creeps over the Brothers,
stars re-birth
beckoning over
mountains
a shimmering black mantel
conceals Azimuth,
her seductive ebony lipsslide,
over the lamp
A visage of ivory
looks upon earth, drifting
shadow to shadow
passing as a will-o-wisp
of ebony vistas,

always out of reach
still,
the Horizon
mesmerizes me,
ebony lips and a mantel
of seduction,
rolls with reverence effaced,
Azimuth’s arms await,
shaded in Grey, I stand east
as the Brothers release her folds
I am ever watchful
reaching for her hold

You Az a mouthful Jayne,

Ann of Norway You Az a mouthful Jayne, and yet when all's explained you touch the angle of my brain and tilt the images to redress your poem of ebony black and obsidian glint, you mesmerise my thoughts in the great vast well of the sky, beyond your horizon an ever changing pattern of stars waiting and waiting as if forever. Transported Jayne, I am, your Ann with her love in a beautiful jet black box with an ivory interior.

Angle yes your right but it can also be a point of origin and in Arabic it means direction ... I guess the best way I can say this is you have to think outside the box let your imagination take you away ... I wrote a poem a while ago and made myself into a doll, in this case I just personified Azimuth ... when I am star gazing I often have to use this method to look through the telescope ... I hope I explained it for you but remember sometimes you have to let your imagination do some of the work ... poetry is about expression your going to find a thousand differnet ways to explain things but only one way to make it yours ... Azimuth and my night sky well I love them and often personify stars into people and vice versa its a poetic tool I think you can see what I am saying yes ?? not everything you reads going to make total sense but you can like or dislike it at will Kind regards Jayne-Chloe

I had wondered if you knew lol was your comment you could see it ... you've been over my way its beautiful up there used to go up with my ex ... I would sit in the moonlight on a massive piece of slate that hung over the side of middle brother and just watch the stars the moon and the coean miles away ... when things get to me I usually try to remember those nights the view not the EX lmao love and big hugs Jayne-Chloe x x

my ex was from woolongong

i can't remember exactly where they are, it's over 15 years since i was there, but i remember the three brothers - you should write a poem about the aborigine myth re them.... and i remember the moon wasn't as low, but it was right there where you say.....and i remember the colours, so different over here.... they were the days - motorcycling around the coast of NSW...... no i rode pillion, never got around to getting my bike license - wish i had, i could ride.too old and skairt now love judd

The Brothers are on the mid north coast between Taree and Port MacQuarie, funny thing my ex had a bike but I also had my licence ... loved going to the Grand Prix at Phillip Island and eastern creek had an absolute BLAST was a good life we used to travel everywhere I miss it sometimes but me and my present partner want to travel when the kids are all off to Uni lol hurry UP ~! .. I am smiling moons here I was still awake but not online the wind howled for a few hours this morning we are coming into storm season here, we have already had a few cyclones this year ... but they are up north the bad weather usually finds its way down to us ... and we cope floods etc so far so good this year but we are due for a bad flood havent had one for the loooongest time and when we get it I believe its going to smash us when it floods we cant get out of our street theres a creek near the end of our road that floods and we have to walk over hill and dale to get to the shops lmao love and big hugs Jayne-Chloe P.S you have fun anytime you like darlin makes for a happy site :)

Mesmerising indeed. I so had visions. I love the title and how it flowed so easily and dreamily. I see your hair from the breeze lightly flicking your face as you stand transfixed staring out and above. Wonderful. As for the winds, quite strong, hey. My cus lives in Proserpine and they had a little damage, but they were on alert. All fine now, just clean up. So glad you liked this one lol I was a little tentative posting it, I rewrote an old poem from months ago and tried to make it a little clearer ... the winds are just coming back again its five pm and it looks like its going to pour down tonight ... we in for a couple of days of rain and bad weather by the sound of it Jesus gotta get my finger out and get some paper and wrap the Jade's'gifts' lol brought one for her and one for bubby lol will catch up with Kristy and Jade over the next two days love to all ... did BJ give you the news about Snakes brother ?? if not message me and i will fill you in love and big hugs JayCee x x x

I am so pleased you posted this one. I always get something from your poems, but you know what, this one seems to have left an indent. I dont know, all are sick of hearing, Love it, but I am putting it at the top. As for that wind, I heard it at its worst. My cus rang when the cyclone winds hit high at 150. Waited and watched, finally she rang after it, they survived. She said they were in the eye and that frightened her, silence she had never heard before, as she said. No power etc and the shops have no fridge/ freezer stuff and they think the power will not be back on for 4 days. As she says, we survived. Well I will go answer your pm, lol. Lyz. XX

Thanks so much for that hun I appreciate it this was an old one I reworked and made into something a little clearer lol the last write was abyssmal this is much better lmao okies talk to you in PM ... btw I have some book covers I wanted Jade to take down and show you for my book I want your opinion ... have to choose some cover art and I am stumped I need another opinion ... and some advice on the title but thats up in the air at the moment will get to that next ... I remember Rett in chat one day talking about his title and now I know what he meant its so important to get the right one I am glad your cousin got through it ok the kids uncle's house had some damage to the roof but they are in one piece thank god ... 4 days without power ? Stargazer that I am yes I often watch the sky in the morning through my telescope ... nothing better than a beautiful sunup or sunset when I lived on the beach I would always get up and watch the sun rise sitting behind the breakers on my board ... first light on the ocean is surreal ... sometimes the water looks crystal clear and the light shining through as the sun comes up I dont have words to describe how beautiful it is love JayCee

thats the joy of poetry when my poetry can take your mind somewhere else I regard that as high praise ... see I love astronomy and star gazing most clear nights I find perusing the universe calming I also have a passion for history Aztec's/mayans always fascinate me they were so ahead of there time seems like I am always fascinated by people and things ahead of there time, even though they say Leonardo da vinci was Gay and ive read a few accounts that suggest he was, if I could go back in time thats who i would meet that man was simply astonishing ... thanks for your kind comment it is much appreciated love Jayne-Chloe

Ann of Norway And the Aztecs-Maya's were dab hands at astronomy we look up at those edifices of theirs, the temples of Tikal perhaps and through the jungle with its obsidian eyed jaguar and screaming apes and see the stars. Was it my word obsidian Brian and Jess that prompted you to go there? The sky now ivory at the horizon where the forests stretch to eternity, so vast a jungle, so wild, and yet it was where once there lived a mighty culture, and one merely hinted at here, which floods our minds with thoughts with wonder, like the essence of this poem also full of wonder. Jayne's pen sweeps the mind of interesting bits to find among the archeology of her brain. I have some loves and astronomy is one of them I have a telescope that I set up on clear nights and puruse the night sky ... I have always been a nocturnal animal my best music and poetry comes in the silence of the night ... I was looking through the tele. the other night and remembered this poem and decided to make it stronger I had to personalize Azimuth ... give her idenity lol and to some its stale but to me the stars are my jewels ... So Sorry for the late reply my emails are screwed up so every couple of days I have to go back and see what I am missing ... I have soared through the milky way and painted the southern cross while the hare followed a boat up a river of galaxies ...
