The River

Take me to the river
Drown me in the water
I don't care any more
Some summers day, we are close to shore
I will walk, follow me

My head hurts all the time
Lost, swallowed, adrift in my mind
i am sunk in the sea of the day
Another Monday afternoon
Another night without you
I wont struggl, just hold me under

Tell the world i fell
Tell them you had no chance in hell
Save my misery and make up a story
Forgive me for my sins, my mistakes and everything
Let me go and try to smile when i float away

Take me to the river
Moon high in the sky
Let God deliver his judgement of mine
My life wasn't hard, just a speck in time
Just let me go

i could kiss you tonight, let you know everything will be alright
Hold you close till you drift to sleep
Then let you dream of the man you really need
I swear I aint him, there is just no niche for me to fill

Water gives life, it can take it all away
Is God in the water?
Promise not to cry, promise not to save me
Just let me float on down the river

Hi W.T. Your title got my attention. I love poetry about nature and water themes are a favorite. I find your style to be different. I like the occasional rhyme scheme, although I doubt I could pull that off, you somehow manage to and keep the flow. I do have a question. Some of the "I" are upper case, some lower, is there a reason you did that? A typo or two as well, but, I enjoyed the piece. I find the last stanza to be my favorite. Sue

thankyou for your comment!i

thankyou for your comment!i appreciate the time you spent reading it, the i's were just a typo, i hate capitalizing them. And i love writing about nature (i have a few others about it as well) but strict observations of it in words never seem to do the trick, i feel a poem about nature needs ones own emotions and interpretations infused in its raw elements! thanks again! -with what love could be- WT

we are all right and wrong

Thankyou for your comment! this was not meant to be a suicide note, the final words are never large enough for one to notice. It was more of a metaphor, for separation, letting go... anything you can interpret, the thing that is great about poetry is that one could write it to mean one thing and someone could read it and take it totally different. No one is wrong and no one is right, that is why poetry is my way of expression, its all up to you the reader so thankyou for your kind words, i appreciate it (makes me not want to "dive in") -with what love could be- WT

Full of sentiment and well

Full of sentiment and well written I love it. It would read a lot better if you typed your i's as a capital where it's needed. I don't know if you know this, (shoot me if you like for mentioning this if you do) you don't have to put on your capital lock for one letter. Directly below the caps lock there's the shift key. If you hold this down just once type in you i, which will become an I and then let it go and your lower case keys will continue to be lower and just keep doing this when you want just one letter to be a capital. So you can shoot me now "BANG" I'm dead... Rosina xena465

BANG

ha thank you xena, yeah i know about the shift button! ha, but when i am in the mood of writing (and auto-fix from Word) i never capitalize them, i am just in a flow -with what love could be- WT
