Weeping Willow

Weeping willow
Sleeping so patiently
Relying on the world
That abandoned you

Holding a smile
That lights up the room
 May I ask
 Where do you find
The will to carry on

Left to fend for your own
In a realm that knows no pity
Somehow you keep on living
One day at a time

So far from home
Still you show no emotion
Waiting meekly for
The life you dreamed of

Till then you showcase
A priceless poise
That keeps you radiant

Damsel in destress?

This reads so nice, Paul. I wish you could find other words for "Damsel in distress" because it is not your line man lol Mark PS you did that very well, paul. I had trouble finding where it was, nice job and I wish you could find another line for "one day at a time" that's an AA line I think (there is/was a self help organization that used it alot) FlexAbilities

You have missed a very important point

about the imagery of willows. Sure they are pretty, but they have deep entangling roots that block waterways and strangle other plants. Worth considering. Or did you? Otherwise this is the poetry I have been waiting for from you. Personal, non-didactic, true. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

Very good point

In fact the roots of the willow is why, most often, people destroy them. Removing a willow is a very nasty job. Most people want the roots chaased out to prevent sprouting. But they ere beauties to the eye and around here they tend to grow in threes or fours, and when old they are the most enormous looking things that can be seen from miles away seeming as one. Sorry, I am late to the game

Sorry, I am late to the game Paul. Been passing a stone, out of commision for a few days. Well weeping willow is great imageray, I would love one in my yard over hanging my creek. That would be great. I thought is was very powerful, I am curious as to who the willow might be? Thanks for sharing Paul, always a pleasure to read. Julie D.D.
