a walk on water

lapis lazuli offered me
protection,as I walked
the land of the dead

being just half woman
and the shadows puppet,
i subsisted in nowhere
for eons

my darkness ended
as a mirror of  light,
shone a course
to cross a river

a silhouette waited,
at the beginning

with one
breath of life left
I crossed the Nile,
no water touched my feet,

(but shadow gods followed me
trailing cloaks of wrath)

I was never meant
to come back

you brought me here
protected me,loved me
and when you tired of me
forgetting the shadows
haunt

My hair trails a path
I am crossing the Nile,
moonlight covers
the path of my return

I am almost
half a woman again,
and the shadow of wrath
crosses my face

Love you my dear.Acceptance

Love you my dear. Acceptance is the most difficult guest we let across our river, shrouded in mystery, now recognized. Mum p.s. edit for context, JC "To love another person is to see the face of God." Les Miserables

Walking on Water

Lady Jayne The first line drew me before I read the rest of the poem. Lapis Lazuli - Such a wonderous colour which I love. My first thoughts were of Egypt I love all about the Pharoahs the Valley of the kings etc. I watch and read anything about the subject. This is beautiful and serne Your poem reminded me of my poem Valley of the Blue Moon. This was created in seconds. I was looking at a bookshelf and the colours of the book drew me to pick it up and it turned out to be the wings of the Ibis. The Wilbur Smith book The Seventh Scroll. I was hooked and had to read all the other books too. Beautiful - Haunting Always Electric Blue

angry goddess

Dear S. It flows so well I love it. It has the feeling of an angry goddess who was banned or sent away in perhaps shame(not sure). Is it a dream or a memory? P.

Egypt

Dear S., It does't need to much tweaking. I like your idea about dreaming forward, Most people, when they talk about Egypt seem to feel they are having memories. I only dreamed about Egypt when I was reading the Passion of Isis and Osiris (excellent read if you missed it). However, these dreams were very vivid do you find that to be true when you dream of egypt? Didn't mean to ramble on, but I find this topic very interesting. Desire is the fuel that drives us and most people never figure that out so you are well on your way. P.

I am crossing the Nile,
moonlight covers
the path of my return

Ann of Norway Now you blow me away, literally into a nether world, yet here in this at the same time, as if you have lifted the barriers of perception and seen beyond the seen. You moved me as the poem of Orpheus and Euridice does, the shadow personage is so beautifully expressed and I identified myself with your every word as if I too were the shadow, I'm now woven into its fabric albeit a fabric of no touch and am left still floating afterwards. I saw the moon over the Nile I have seen your poem floating among the reeds beside it, watched over by the egrets and the snakes of Egypt, guarding your 'soul' wandering with its mirrored light into your heart. "and the shadows puppet," Just me with my love dear Jayne.

Dear Ann

You make my mind wander to the other side of the planet where its dark ... the river flows and the Nile calls me Italy and egypt are the two places I am determined to see in my lifetime ... Italy fingers crossed will be this year Egypt hopefully one day I will get there .... I am soooo Jealous you have seen those anicent waters that I only dream about ... my dreamtime wanders so often takes me to the nile and the Pharoahs and their history ... I should ahve been a history teacher not a Music teacher my heart lies In the past love you dear lady and thank you very much for the wonderful comment made my day love and biggest hugs Jayne-Chloe x x x

AnnieLapis Lazuli gemstone

Annie Lapis Lazuli gemstone meaning Lapis lazuli is an ancient gem, and as such, has a storied history. Egyptian cultures made a practice of burying a lapis lazuli scarab with their dead, and believed it to offer protection. The very earliest cultures valued lapis lazuli more highly than gold. Greeks spoke of an ancient sapphire which was included with gold, and this was unmistakenly lapis. Some believed that dreaming of lapis would foretell love that would be forever faithful. When working or meditating with Lapis Lazuli, it can bring matters more clearly to the mind. It is one of the most powerful stones and should be used with care. Wearing a Lapis Lazuli ring can help you to become a channel. The ancient Egyptians used Lapis Lazuli as a symbol of Truth. Healing properties of Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli is used with other stones when parts of the body need to be purified and cleansed and should be only used by a healer. Lapis Lazuli has high intensity and can open many of the chakra centers. This must be done only with love in the heart and comprehension in the mind and wisdom in soul. Sources of Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli can be found in Chile, the Soviet Union, the United States, but most significantly from the mountains of Afghanistan. there you go Annie all you needed to know about the Lapis Lazuli Jayne-Chloe

Two continents across the world

and yet with the colour and sounds of Egypt there is a also a feel of ancient Celtic woman, goddess. This is more about the depth of woman as a whole and the fickleness of gods and men...as I inhale your words. My take on it must be the comming spring equinox.... Beautiful poem Jayne Seabhac
