I CHANGE MY MEN LIKE I CHANGE MY SOCKS.

I change my men
like I change my sock
-or so my mother fears,

She's always slightly appalled
and amused that I'm
so good at getting men

But ever so slightly disapproving
at the thought of me
not keeping any of them!

I lie to myself that it's
variety I need- No!
I'm conventional to the core.

I want to wear my socks
forever!

Hello!

This has potential. I'd like to see it expanded. Have you worn mismatched "socks"? Did some get lost in the dryer? Did you ever buy "irregulars" because they were on sale? I thought the end could be stronger. I do hope you work this up. Nice to see you again.

strong endings...

Hey you! Long time, etc., etc.,...Got a backlog of poems from last year to type up...i'm a terrible procrastinator...hate typing! I will work on the figurative language a bit...I agree there's more to write on this. By the way, how's life with you?...read some of your recent stuff. Like it. The ending is what it is...i'm trying to get over the idea that I don't like changing my 'socks'...and that if I could find the perfect (mr Sock)...I'd cherish and darn it forever!...lol

Hopping on one foot ...

Agree with the above but what an interesting image. I am into feet you see..short fat stumpy feet with cheesy tastes and corny toes !! Kal

Did you steal my sister's diary?

Not many poems make me smile but this one sure did! I'm going to call my mother and read it to her. She'll probably ask me: 'Is this about your sister?'. Well done. Cheers, John.

Right Ells!

You're absolutely right! It gives it that 'little twist' in the end. I enjoy reading it, as well as using it myself. Not looking for mr Right (sock)….just mr Right -Now! (sock)…lol LOL INDEED! Were you a man in your previous life? lol Cheers, John.
