Yeshu'a

Bethlehem

extolling

where you were born.

Nazareth

celebrating

where you grew.

The Sinai

strengthened

where you were torn.

The Jordon River

chastened

where you were baptised.

Cana

marvelling

where you turned water to wine.

Sea of Galilee

swimming

where you walked.

Karn Hattin

reflecting

where you taught.

Bethesda

kneeling

where you healed.

Jerusalem

tottering

where you rode.

Wailing Wall

trembling

where you roared.

Mount of Olives

venerating

where you kneeled.

Gethsemane

grieving

where you cried.

Pretorium

lamenting

where you were scourged.

Calvary

appalled

where you died.

Son of God?

I don’t know.

But I’ve heard your message

and you are

my hero.

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

I like to think he’s more

I like to think he's more human...and he had more faults than what was given to him. I like to think he and Mary Magdalene had a good life, and together leave a bloodline... I'd like to think that Buddha and many others from the East were good men. I'd like to think we all could live in the story of One Love. I like to think of spiritual women such as St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Catherine of Siena and great mystics and poets of all traditions being no less. ~A "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." ~ Paul Valery

agreed anna. throughout the ages we've had these great people who have come to try and re-direct us on the path destined for us. oh when we finally, after we have learnt the lessons of this school, reach our destination only to find an even greater path set out for us . love and hugs to you A judy

Dear Judy

A beautiful tribute this piece of work! We are all son's and daughter's of God and Goddess. I too, call this man "hero." Love, Cat but sometimes I think I was adopted as I came late.

I like the layout of the poem

it is almost like being a tourist on a bus visiting all these places and ages only one I felt I stumbled on was Cana marvelling where you turned water to wine. It just feels a little long but sorry have no specific suggestions how to change it. Thanks for sharing Seabhac

this line bothered me too, but i wanted to include the 'miracle' as i feel it is an important part of his story, and i also couldn't think of a shorter version. thanks judy

Ann of Norway Simply lovely, and how we wonder and yet we live our lives here, not there, but there is here too. Amen. "agreed anna. throughout the ages we’ve had these great people who have come to try and re-direct us on the path destined for us." The roots of coincidence? Love to you dear judyanne- you touch our quick, annanya
