lions tooth

in my garden
upon this trellis of bone and fingers
your heart arises
in spoken smoke and roses

yet i am the loneliest part of you still
thorny and stemmed
held fast within distances
reaching not all red
or flowers only

but i
confined to the earths halo
worn sharp with snail hearted tongues
 fall
in  bellies  of air
as you
the lions tooth pirouettes a miracle
your breath rises teaching it to  dance
as i enter the celestial promise of  this

your truths defiance of  gravity with sun glinted eyes
piercing like knives
pruning with felled fires
across the dying day
a flamed fragrance distilling into me
clinging blue fringes of light remain
i call the  Sky into my veins
and you answer
your leaf roots embed their  tongues
far within the soul of this red flower

of falling petals and budding priests
this song to the earths dark music

Lion's tooth...

Your poetry always has bite. No matter what the subject, you seem to be able to get your teeth into it. Who else could make the sentence, [ worn sharp, with snail-hearted tongues], work? I'm still trying to picture that one. Great stuff! ~ Gee
