writers are such inglorious bastards

writers are such inglorious bastards
poets are even more so

writing is the easy part,

it is good to have other-worldly ideals
and aspirations
to make do
get through the days and nights
sister sojourn and brother bloodbath,
eventual cemetery called earth

each and every scribbler, soundly invested in portraying anyone
other than the self buried under the avalanche of words
and lines, unlikely rewards
just punishers amid an arsenal of punishments
feeble attempts at self-manipulation to achieve a
holier-than-thou stance or romance

the crown of glory resting squarely on one's own
foibles and volition
acts
of self-defense
a vortex of energy curled up in a knot
lying in wait to be unleashed from one's own
malcontent
recapturing the joy of childhood's end
(there is no end)

I eat from the tree of knowledge and become
bitter fruit, resolute
the energy of life itself,
perplexity and complexity,
simply grand paradox
and hoax
horror and story
injustice and perfect love
astounding myself
alive

I know there is nothing else.

I am an inglorious bastard.  I write.

Anna

Is this a poem or another rant in session? lol It doesnt seem to be one of your more distinguished poems but it is true when a writer is angry they will write it out anyway they feel it. We've all been there done that before have we not? I have. I think I got it right. Everyone has a bad day and some more then others. For me I like to stay with the OM wave, Peace to the Pen, Magics02 xoxoxo Learn to live, learn to forgive. Life is too short.

I did have a bad day

I did have a bad day yesterday, even though I wrote a couple of sunny haikus. I'm feeling much better now. I love the "peace to the Pen". should use that for a signature line too. Perhaps I'll use it..now. Smiles, Anna "Peace to the Pen" ~ Magics02 aka Mona

A vortex of energy curled up in a knot lying in wait

Ann of Norway "a vortex of energy curled up in a knot lying in wait to be unleashed from one’s own malcontent" I see the Mexican snakes coiled, carved in stone, so beautiful so polished, their complete forms shown by a mirror beneath them, this coil of snake you conjured up for me and in its stance- poise-position, it describes your writers aspirations and failed paths criss-crossing on this page in rage and paradox. You strike again my dear kind sister Anna. ann.

The Cosmic Joke.

Good video. Good point about personal responsibility. But to me, the Cosmic Joke can't be expressed in words, and at best, only begun in many words. A few of the things it would include are: cosmic indifference, cosmic love, paradox and irony, humility, hubris, acceptance, wonder, untethering. The list goes on and on, all these things separately and together all at once, like Kali and the dance of life, death, time and eternity. Enlightenment leads to laughter, and I'm the one laughing - we all laugh together. It's all just a grand cosmic joke - not to be taken seriously - but to be experienced with humor. Know what I mean?
