Blue skies of dawn, part 4

Blue skies of dawn, part 4

Seliq wa till came back last nighthe hadn’t been away very longtoday would bring much insightof this greeting so prolonged
The longhouse was all up in a stirmagic in the earthy atmospheredays seemed to pass by in a whirlAs she gave the tribe her all clear
Maids had presented her a dresschildren had brought her flowersall the elders acting unimpressedpredicting the days pending showers
Dogs bark as the songbirds singkids swimming in the riversuch a sunny day in early springcoming to and fro from on hither
Lay lo la decided to go on a walkshe told grandmother she was goingso many that wanted her to talkeach left her with smiles growing
She followed the trail along the waterdown the hill and around the bendtreading lightly as her father taught hersinging a song with the southern wind
She saw an old log up from the bankin an open area of inspiring sighta mellow place as of yet left blankferns and wildflowers set alight
From behind she heard a rolling rockturning to see who was therewondering who found her on her walkIt was the young chief, he had this flare
“Well we finally meet young princesswelcome to my home and family landI have been so excited I must confessbut the elders always have their hand”
“Now that I returned from my questI can now properly introduce myselfI hope you have been my family’s welcome guestI am Seliq wa till, son of Chief Salefh”
Lay lo la starred for a moment longertaking a second to stow her smilestanding this close he looked even strongerworth traveling a few extra miles
“Thank you,” she said ” Most definitely yesyour tribe has welcomed me with open armsthe maids even made me this pretty dressI have been welcomed, made to feel safe n’ warm”
“I got to offer them my medicinal skillsand everyone is fit as they could beGrandmother has made some delicious mealsyou have a wonderful extended family”
He laughed, “I could ask which Grandmotherbut I know which one you meanshe’s my cousins mothers, mothers, mother”rubbing his tummy, his eyes agleam
They exchanged some nervous grins“I just wanted to say hi, before latermother is planning dinner, inviting kinthere is even a visiting pelt trader”
“Ok” she said “Walk with me back?”she invited him with her rich brown eyeshe told her “Yes, I would like that”both sending a prayer into the clear blue skies

Oh Lay lo la, a lovely story Julie

Ann of Norway We should see the whole together one time, perhaps we have to do that? It might go out of the bottom of the computer when all of it was here! "Lay lo la starred for a moment longer".... ...did you mean stared? Otherwise it is a new turn of phrase only fitting for Lay lo la. Love Ann
