Breath Less

Purple-blue colour
Mask-like grimace
Leaving his Earth at a quickening pace..

In defiance of Death
He gripped the bed bars
Trying to get air into decaying lungs..

Doctors and nurses clustered around
Pouring in drugs to jump start
His heart..

Their efforts were futile
As the breath left its home
The fight was now over
His corpse was alone..

Gruesome and I liked it,

Gruesome and I liked it, really good twist of death and decay. He is already in the ground and not even dead yet, some people just can't let go... until they just can't stay any longer with out decaying. I get it. I almost felt like it could be expanded upon... but I will think on it and let you know. Good read thanks for sharing. Julie D.D.
